The F2B Ducks have been learning about the importance of water and observing and interacting with natural processes such as floating and sinking. Pupils made paper boats and had to observe if the boats were floating or sinking in the water tray. This enhances their mathematical and science skills (floating, sinking, heavy, and light) and hand-eye coordination too.
After that, we experimented with mixing oil and water. This simple science activity teaches students about liquid density and highlights how some liquids are heavier or lighter than others. While enjoying this science exploration students will explore how oil and water do not mix. Students had a lot of fun and enjoyed both activities.
